Network Marketing Scam Artist Reveals All

Who Is This Network Marketing Scam Artist?

Network marketing scam artists are all over the world working hard to separate you from your hard earned money.  They are using network marketing models and filling your head with dreams of hot women (or men), sports cars, and a big huge mansion on the shores of Costa Rica.  But what makes these people tick?  And can we get them to give of their secrets of success?

I know what your thinking, why would I want the secrets of success from a network marketing scam artist?  Well lets face the facts,  99% of all network marketing companies are legitimate business opportunities.  Unfortunately, there are 1% that give the entire industry a bad name.  Now I will say that within those 99%, there are a few “network marketers” who are using shady scam artist techniques to sign people up into their business.

And these network marketing scam artists are actually the people we can thank for the, Is this a pyramid scheme question.  You see these people are telling prospects to focus only on building their down line and completely disregarding the product all together.  And since that was the focus of the marketing and phone calls, they made it appear that the business was the product.  And that no actual “item” needed to be purchased, thus the question of legality came to be.

Any legitimate network marketing company will focus primarily on the product they produce rather than the business opportunity they provide.  And when you are approached by network marketers who are doing the right thing, it will be for their product first, then the opportunity.

Let me say this though, don’t disregard a network marketing company if your approached with the business building aspect during your first contacts with representatives.  99% of marketers are simply doing what they are told from their leaders.  Its not a bad thing, its just not the most effective approach.

How Not To Be A Network Marketing Scam Artist

Ok, so first let me qualify myself for you.  After all you don’t want to take advice from someone who has never been there right?  I am a recovering scam artist.  And to be 100% truthful I used to be one of those guys who made all kinds of promises or promoted products blindly.  So I think its safe to say I was an all around scam artist.  But I have been on the road to recovery and have come over to the good side of the force (Star Wars reference).

Since I have made the transition I have to tell you life is a whole lot easier.  And I have no problem sleeping at night knowing that the very few products that I promote these days I can truly say work.  I might miss out on the initial launch of a product and not get a ton of sales but I am OK with that.  And the same carries over to my network marketing business as well.  I am in two separate companies currently and slowly building my teams which is fine with me because I know that the people who join me will be around for the long haul.  And that is the approach that you need to take when building your business, its a marathon not a sprint.

With that being said you need to know what mlm is so that you can properly address the network marketing scam objections.

To help you understand what network marketing is, I must first explain what it isn’t. First it isn’t a pyramid scheme. Pyramids are programs similar to chain letters where people just invest money based on the promise that other people will put in money that will filtrate back to them and somehow, they’ll get rich. A pyramid is strictly a money game and has no basis in real commerce. Normally, there’s no product involved at all, just money changing hands. Modern-day pyramids may have a product, but it’s clearly there just to disguise the money game.

Network marketing is a legitimate business. First, it’s based on providing people with real, legitimate products they need and want at a fair price. While some people do make a lot of money through network marketing, their financial benefit is always the result of their own dedicated efforts in building an organization that sells real products and services.

Pyramids are illegal and are based on taking advantage of people. For a person to actually make money in a pyramid scheme, someone else has to lose money. But in network marketing, each person can multiply his or her efforts, skills and talents by helping others be successful. It has proved itself as part of the new economy and a preferred way to do business here and around the world.

It isn’t about taking advantage of your friends and relatives. Only a few years ago, network marketing meant retailing to, and sponsoring people from, your “warm list” of prospects. Although sharing the products or services and the opportunity with people you know is still the basic foundation of the business, today we see more people using sophisticated marketing techniques such as the Internet, conference calling and other long-distance sponsoring techniques to extend their network across the country.

It isn’t a network marketing scam get-rich-quick scheme. Of course some people do make large amounts of money very quickly. Many would say those people are lucky. But success in networking isn’t based on luck. (Unfortunately, money won’t sprout wings and fly into your bank account no matter what someone has promised you.) Success in network marketing is based on following some very basic yet dynamic principles.

Now let’s discuss what network marketing is. Its a serious business for serious people. It’s a proven system where the design, creation and expense the corporate team has gone through becomes a road map for your own success. Just follow the simple, proven and duplicable system that the good companies provide.

The real key is this: its all about leverage. You can leverage your time and increase the number of hours of work effort on which you can be paid by sponsoring other people and earning a small income on their efforts. J. Paul Getty, who created one of the world’s greatest fortunes, said “I would rather make 1 percent on the efforts of 100 people than 100 percent on my own efforts.” This very basic concept is the cornerstone of network marketing.

For example, most successful people building a business do so in an organized method. They work a few dedicated hours each week, with each hour of effort serving as a building block for their long-term business growth. Then they sponsor other people and teach those people how to sell the company product and sponsor others who duplicate the process.

By helping the people you personally sponsor to sponsor others, you duplicate yourself. As this process continues, you create compound growth that can lead to hundreds or even thousands of people coming into your business. You leverage your time by helping others be successful and earn an income from all their efforts.

With network marketing, there are no big capital requirements, no geographical limitations, no minimum quotas required and no special education or skills needed. Its also a low-overhead, homebased business that can actually offer many of the tax advantages associated with owning your own business. Its a people-to-people business that can significantly expand your circle of friends. It’s a business that enables you to travel and have fun as well as enjoy the lifestyle that extra income can provide.

So are you still interesting in a network marketing scam, lol.  Its a great industry and I know that with the right mentor and motivation your going to do fine.  Just have patience and be willing to put in the work to succeed.

In closing, I wrote this post because network marketing scam claims are all around the internet and its about time the industry stood up for itself rather than not addressing it.  Leaders are people who take on the challenges of guiding people to the hard right versus the easy wrong.  By not ignoring network marketing scam claims and meeting them head on, your doing your industry a favor.

No Excuses Summit

My First No Excuses Summit

So for the past four days I have been hanging out in the great city of Las Vegas trying to learn something and really take my business to the next level.  I have been so busy at the No Excuses Summit I didn’t even get a chance to watch some of the great shows that are being put on here.  But that is ok, because during the No Excuses Summit Ray and Ferniew put on a aboslute clinic for those who were driven enough to attend live or even on the live feed that was offered late into the planning of the conference.

What was the purpose of the No Excuses Summit?

Well, to answer this question I really need to tell you a story.  You see I have been online marketing for quite some time and have had a reletively decent amount of success both with selling my own products and selling other peoples stuff as an affiliate.  But all during that time I was (and still am) serving in the U.S. Army.  So when I was deployed to Afghanistan I found that all that great money I was making absolutly vanished.  Assuming you don’t know this aleady, but when you sell other peoples products or services you will find very quickly that if you don’t keep it up your going to miss out on the latest and greatest fad.  Prodcuts for the most part don’t continue beyond that original rush, unless of course your promoting a continuity program (monthly payments).

So while I was deployed my monthly income pretty much died out because I wasn’t able to do stuff online while I was running around the Afghan country side.  So, I decided that I needed to build a team.  More importantly, I needed to build a team that had the same passion I did for residual income.  So I got back into network marketing.

Now this is where the No Excuses Summit comes into play.  You see last year after No Excuses Summit 2 I made a goal for myself, and that was that I was going to attend No Excuses Summit 3.  I have been putzing around the internet for so long trying to marry network marking and internet marketing and all the while I was reading or watching success stories from people who left No Excuses Summit and absolutley launched their businesses to the next level.

People who have positivly STRUGGLED to even make a dime online had gone to this event and are now currently making six and seven figure incomes through product creation and building their network marketing businesses.  And quite frankly it was pretty cool to watch normal regular people do so well, very inspirational.

So if your into internet marketing or network marketing the No Excuses Summit is definately one of the don’t miss events in the industry.

No Excuses SummitWhat Happens at the No Excuses Summit?

For the last three years, and probably for the forseeable future, No Excuses Summit has been held in late April in Las Vegas.  Its actually a pretty good venue considering all the money that is thrown away in the city.  And the excitement that just comes natually to people there carries over very well into the No Excuses Summit speakers and attendee’s.

The live event is set out for a three day period.  Starting on Friday with the first four speakers kicking it off just to let everyone know the pace the No Excuses Summit is going to set.  If you buy a No Excuses Summit VIP ticket to the event you are treated to a table in the front of the room so that you get a good birds eye view of the speakers as well as just a touch more comfortable when your writing notes and such.   That night you get the opportunity to go to the VIP mixer where you have the opportunity to speak with the presenters one on one as well as network with the other attendees.  Of course a couple drinks for you to enjoy are part of the cost of the upgrade to No Excuses Summit VIP so if your a touch shy the “beverages” sure do help loosen you up.

On Saturday you go full force into the learning process.  Starting at 9 AM and going until 6 PM you are presented hour after hour with inspirational stories and more important, actionable information for your business.  It helps that the No Excuses Summit Master of Ceremonies keeps everyone engaged and by the end of the day your notebook is full and your ready to keep going to the break out rooms.  Now let me digress a bit, during the No Excuses Summit presenters are not allowed to pitch on stage.  And other attendees are told not to use the event to pitch their business.  In the break out rooms however, the speakers are allowed to offer their products.  Which all in all isn’t a bad deal if you resonated with what they were talking about and wanted to expand on that knowledge.  The other advantage of the break out sessions is that you get to ask questions.  Something you can’t do during the presentations.

On Saturday night its really time to PARTY!!!  The No Excuses Summit organizers set up a VIP party where you really get to see the people you see on the net professing their greatest in a more personal and relaxed setting.  This opportunity is great because now you have the opportunity to see the real side of these men and women who have already had success.  You also have the opportunity to form some great relationships with other networks or internet marketers whom you may not have had the opportunity to interact with otherwise.

Sunday is typically the closing day of the No Excuses Summit but don’t think that they let up.  As a matter of fact, I found its usually the best speakers who are up on Sunday.  I have taken almost half a notebook full of notes on this one day alone.  And the speakers are more present on Sunday as well.  Giving you a better chance of asking them those pressing questions you have always wanted to ask them.  The day closes out with more break out room training which typically last a lot longer that Friday’s and Saturday’s break outs.

How To Get The Most Out Of No Excuses Summit?

Ok first let me say something about myself (I know, not supposed to talk about myself but its important) I don’t like taking pictures of myself and quite frankly I really am not a social butterfly.  As a matter of fact if I could get away with hiding behind my computer and running a network marketing business that way I would.  But the fact of the matter is network marketing is a people business, so I really had to get over that “fear” and just jump right in.

So in order to get the most out of No Excuses Summit you really need to do three things.

1)  Talk to people.  Your in a room with hundreds of people at the No Excuses Summit who are going through the exact same things that your going through.  Calling prospects, generating leads, closing sales, banging their heads against walls because of they are hitting the same roadblocks you are.  Get out and talk so you can find ways to get over those obstacles.

2) Take pictures when you can of you and other leaders at the No Excuses Summit.  I really didn’t get a lot of pictures of myself with the leaders and only a couple with other people I met there.  I know there quite a few people who took pictures of me and that’s cool.  I hope they post them onto Facebook soon so I can get a copy.  I was lacking in this because I was really busy taking notes and talking with people.  That an I took my $1,500 digital camera versus my little pocket camera (I’ll take both next time, people were afraid to use my good one).

3) Pick one No Excuses Summit speaker a day and make sure you attend his or her break out room.  This is actually a lot harder than you think because there is so much great information being presented.  On Saturday and Sunday I spend a good while debating over two or three speakers whom I want to ask question of.  But in the end there can be only one.  So what I did was get with some of the great people I met (see tip number one) and we divided and conquered.  We picked the rooms we wanted to go to and then shared information that night or the next day.  It really worked out and in the end we were all happy with the break out rooms that we had chose to go to and received a lot of value versus a sales pitch.

In conclusion, I set a goal a year ago to attend No Excuses Summit and I am so glad I did.  My biggest takeaway from this years event was what Tim Sales said, “After all the crap that you have gone through in your life.  After all the hard times that you have endured.  After all the challenges that were presented to you.  How in the hell can you say network marketing is hard.  This business isn’t hard, compared to everything else, this is the easiest thing you can do for yourself, if you take action.”

Motivation for the Network Marketer

This is possibly the last article you will ever need about motivation, but I doubt it.

Not a very motivation driven subtitle there is it. But the fact of the matter is that if you are a network marketer you are going to have to delve into the topic of motivation more often then seo, lead generation, product development, or anything else for that matter. As a leader you will find yourself in the position where your team will look to you for that light at the end of their tunnel.

But you have to ensure that you tell them that the truth is that every person who is in network marketing and is unsuccessful looks for motivation outside of themselves. Those people believe that motivation has to come from someone else or some other thing. You as their leader have to dispel that and show them that they must develop the only true type of motivation, self-motivation.

Do you see how that football coach responded to his player? Sure it was tough on the player, but the lesson was taught and you need to do the same with your team. They don’t need to be lied to, sold, or mislead to get them to perform.

Have you ever said or heard someone say, “I’m just not motivated,” I am more than willing to bet money on the fact that you have. Guess what you are not alone, I have said that myself. Just yesterday when I was tired and wanting to sleep I almost put off posting to my blog. Would it have killed me to put off till tomarrow what I could have done today? YES, it would have lead to me saying in the not to distant future that I could just “catch up,” and I don’t want to do that. I truly believe that there are only two groups of people in this world, those who have it and those who don’t.

Motivation isn’t a pass time, its for a lifetime

I don’t know if you have ever served in the military, but I am sure you can tell from my picture in my banner that I have and motivation is something that I had to have everyday. And every year at the gym during the winter months the gym is so busy that I can’t get into a class or even get on my favorite piece of equipment like I want, but I manage and drive on towards my goal.

Its really is just a plain fact that these people who are so dedicated when its cold outside will fall off. They will quit showing up because they are not truly motivated to make a diffence in their fitness, they just want to be inside and they are going through the motions. The same applies to ourselves and our daily lives.

One thing that I have no motivation to do is fold socks. I could care less if my socks are paired up and put away neatly in my sock drawer (my wife hates my lack of motivation), I would definitely say that I have absolutely no motivation in sock folding.

I believe that its perfectly acceptable to have someone else do it, or better yet, just throw them in the drawer and I figure it out later. But when it come to taking control of your finances, health, happiness and relationships these are things that you and I have to have some personal motivation for.

The best example of self motivation that I can provide you is my business. I work with different people everyday. Unfortunately I am a poor judge at how self motivated someone is to reach their dreams and goals. It usually turns out that the last person that I think is truly self motivated turns out to be hungry for results. All of a sudden I see them selling a tons of products out of no where and I am always impressed.

The point is that true motivation comes from within and in my experience of over 20 years in the military and ten years struggling in network marketing it is that self motivation is the only motivation that matters. Self motivated people don’t have to be told or reminded of what they have to do in their lives. They don’t have to be asked to accomplish a task or what are they doing today to improve their lives. They simply do it.

You need to ask yourself one simple question, Are you self motivated? This is the only difference that I have found between successful people and those who are not. And as you look around you will see that self motivated people stick to their goals and figure out the solution to getting results they want no matter the work involved.

Self motivation, its the only motivation you need.

Regards,

Clint Butler
