Motives Cosmetics by Loren Ridinger
Have you ever been doing research on something and come to a site that just makes you jaw drop and wonder, “How did they do that?” Well the Motives Cosmetics site is a perfect example of that. I mean this site is beautiful, the presentation is awesome, and the navigation is easy. Heck I need to find their web designer and get them to create a site like that me. Of course I am sure it cost them a pretty penny so my design skills will have to do, for now.
Motives Cosmetics, a Market America brand, sells a line of cosmetics and skin care through its network of Motives Cosmetics Consultants at home parties, online, and through catalogs. The Motives Cosmetics company website proudly displays every product in their line including their skin care stuff (might be time for this old guy to get some anti-aging stuff lol).
Their cosmetics line is so huge that the drop down menu covers half the page. But the company says their best sellers are their Anti-Aging Skin Treatment, eyeliners, foundation, Makeup Finishers (think clear coat for you car), mascara, and primer (ok I though of another joke here but I will keep it to myself).
Motives Cosmetics Enrollment Options
Motives Cosmetics Consultants receive a personal website and can purchase sales aids such as catalogs and business cards at a discount to help them succeed. They are allowed to market online, through direct print marketing, and the traditional face to face marketing. This must be a welcome change for those who might be considering leaving Mary Kay and their strict marketing rules they have in place.
There is also an option called “Motives & Me” for teens under age 18 to sell Motives Cosmetics. This is a very very cool concept and I wish more network marketing companies would take a note from Motives Cosmetics and implement something similar. Think about it, these kids are young and motivated. With the proper guidance and training they could probably run circles around other members of your downline.
I can’t provide you the startup costs unfortunately because you have to contact a consultant to get enrolled. But I will say if you have a teenage daughter that loves make-up and has the entrepreneurial spirit Motives Cosmetics might be a good place to direct her.

Clint, I’ve never heard of the company so I’m glad you’re bringing them to the limelight in some of our eyes. I do like that they have an under 18 policy. I know about 15 years ago when my daughter was 15 she sold Watkins products. This will be so beneficial to teens because not only will they make a little money, but they’ll also be able to market to their friends. Great concept for this company!

Great review Clint. My personal concern is that there are so many businesses out there that are involved in the health and well being market. It is becoming a very competitive marketplace. This is a good time to be involved in a new concept with low competition and a captive market looking for different ideas.

Great review on Motives Cosmetics, Clint! I love, love, love the idea of getting young women involved in the direct sales industry early. That marks a real change in the way we are educating our young people…a definite step in the right direction.
Keepin’ it real!

Wow what a great way to get their name out there, having the under 18 age bracket as a word of mouth…. I think this company could be onto something Clint.
