Why Do You Need To Know How To Use FileZilla?
I had many questions as to why one would need to know how to use FileZilla to transfer files with an FTP client when trying to generate leads on the internet. So I decided that I would address it in this post. What FileZilla is is a transfer program that allows you to take files off of your computer, and put them onto your server. This becomes important when you’re trying to install specific plug-ins or themes onto your WordPress installation.
For some reason the standard WordPress upload option within the admin panel sometimes locks up when uploading specific themes or plug-ins in that manner. When this happens usually the the developer of the specific plug-in or theme that you’re trying to install suggests that you use a FTP software to upload to your server. And that is where FileZilla comes in.
With FileZilla your allowed to upload as much as you want, for as long as you want onto your server. This ease-of-use allows you to do other things while you’re waiting for your specific program theme or plug-in to upload onto your site. You can also use the FileZilla to upload videos, audios, etc. including images onto your site all at once when you’re creating such things as landing pages or brand-new pages. So understanding how the software works is, although not completely essential, it will definitely save you a lot of time.
What My Video On How To Use FileZilla
Okay, so hopefully the video actually detailed how to use it in a clear and concise manner. It wasn’t my intent to confuse you and if I did please comment below on the specific part of the training that you need more help with or you would like me to clarify. FileZilla is by far the easiest FTP client on the Internet, and once you get it you will completely understand what I mean.

Hey Clint,
Nice video man. This is just the video people need to see because everyone does not use DW to connect to the server. Also, this way is a lot more convenient than using your cPanel (IMHO).
Great presentation.
This video will help Wordpress Users in managing their website files more efficiently.
P.S. I think that the extra talking in the end though is not necessary because it is not relevant to the Awesome job you did explaining FileZilla and it’s usage.
Wayne Hatter.
Thanks for the tip Wayne, yeah I sometimes ramble on. It comes from my radio show I do lol and its something I know I need to work on.
Hi Clint! Oh boy…another learning curve for me! I really didn’t know anything about this and I thank you for giving me such good information. I am not great at the technical parts of things. Shall I say it is like an ADD for me. But this clarifies it. I will bookmark this page and use it when I finish my 9 week series of a learning curve. I am supposed to just focus on that for now. But this will come in handy if and when I get some down time or later. Thanks so much,
Donna
Hi Clint,
It looks easy enough to use.
Anything that makes my job easier gets my thumbs up.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Mmm.. I am so digitally challenged – I think I’ll leave that to my web guy, great explanation though Clint – just kidding though, filezilla is relatively easy after the 2cnd , third or is it tenth attempt.
Hey Clint awesome post I remember a few months ago searching for this info so I am happy to see where to find it if I need a refresher.
That’s great Kelly, glad to see so many people are finding it useful.
FileZilla (or any FTP program) is so easy to use compared to cPanel! lol Like some folks, I tend to forget in between uses (or I think I forget), how to use it without questioning what I’m doing. Glad that there’s a great video up here now that I can refer to. Well done!
Jane
I’m bookmarking this. I will DEFINITELY need to use it!
Fantastic Clint, I will be bookmarking this article to watch again, it’s a great resource to have. Cheers!
I heard of the Filezilla before from one of David Wood’s training that he did a while ago. Thanks for sharing Clint on how to use Filezilla.
I LOVE Filezilla! I’ve been using it for over 8 years! I think my favorite thing about Filezilla is that I can upload large files to my hosting quickly. It is so much easier for me to pass a link on to someone than it is to email a large file or zip it and using websites like 4shared. Great information, Clint!
Great tips – I use FilZila all the time, not just for my blog but for uploading images, files and all sorts of things for viewing and distribution. It’s so easy to use and so useful, best of all it’s free!
It’s pretty easy to use, but it’s not great for large file transfers, or anything you want to keep secure at that matter. I prefer Maytech.
I have never heard of Maytech Sarah, thank you for the resource.
